Chris Ruston
chrisruston.com

Chris Ruston's work facilitates thinking about our place in the world, whether this be regarding our connection to the past and /or with what is happening in the present. She explores issues around our changing climate, often combining her interests in anthropology, history, oceanography, along with storytelling.

Chris predominately works with the book form creating unique artist books which celebrate the dynamic beauty of the natural world. Utilising traditional bindings and sculptural forms, Chris approach's art as a visual conversation, aiming to make work which raises awareness of environmental concerns. She believes Art offers a rich diverse  'library of ideas '- points of reflection, with the potential for something new to come into existence. She has a particular love of working with paper, and expressive mark making.
